At Metro Vancouver Siding, we stand behind the quality of our workmanship. That’s why we provide a 25-Year Limited Warranty on Installation for all siding projects we complete. This warranty is designed to give our clients peace of mind that their siding installation will be performed to professional standards and will remain secure when properly maintained.
Warranty Coverage
This warranty applies only to the installation workmanship performed by Metro Vancouver Siding.
It guarantees that your siding has been installed in accordance with industry best practices and manufacturer guidelines.
If an installation defect arises within 25 years of the completion date—such as siding materials becoming loose, detaching, or falling off—Metro Vancouver Siding will, at its discretion, repair or replace the affected area of siding installation at no additional cost to the property owner.

- Manufacturing defects: Problems with the product itself that are due to how it was made.
- Damage from hail, pests, and weather: Specifically covers damage from hail, woodpeckers, termites, or other wood-boring insects.
- Warping and cracking: Protects against cracking, splitting, edge checking, or warping from water, heat, and freezing temperatures.
What is not covered
- Improper installation: The warranty is void if the product is not installed according to James Hardie’s instructions.
- Improper maintenance: Failure to perform necessary maintenance can void the warranty.
- Third-party products: Efflorescence or failure of third-party paints or coatings is not covered.
- Structural issues: Damage resulting from foundation shifts or incorrect structural design is excluded.

Water Damage and Moisture Penetration
If siding panels aren’t properly overlapped, flashed, or caulked, water can seep behind the siding. Improper sealing around windows, doors, or joints also lets moisture in.
Impact: Water behind the siding can lead to rot, mold, and structural damage—issues that are not covered by the manufacturer because the siding itself isn’t defective; it was just installed incorrectly.

Incorrect Cutting and Fitting
Cutting panels too short, at the wrong angle, or forcing them to fit.
Impact: Leads to gaps, misalignment, or exposed edges, which can allow water or pests in and cause aesthetic and structural issues.
Fastening Issues
Using the wrong type of nails, overdriving or underdriving nails, or placing them in the wrong location.
Impact: Can cause cracking, warping, or panels loosening over time. The siding may fail not because of material defects but because of installation mistakes, which the warranty won’t cover.

Metro Siding Installation Warranty
This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original property owner at the time of installation.
Claims must be submitted in writing with proof of purchase and photographs of the issue.
Metro Vancouver Siding reserves the right to inspect the affected area before determining coverage.
